FOCUS ON INDOOR AIR QUALITY INVESTIGATION
There is more and more evidence everyday that the quality of the indoor environment can have profound effects on the health of building occupants. CEI provides a range of services that address problems caused by environmental pollutants in the workplace. CEI’s services include:  building inspection and evaluation; ambient monitoring for chemical and biological contaminants, asbestos, radon, and mold; interpretation of findings; and suggested recommendations and engineering controls.    CEI has responded to numerous complaints concerning IAQ in a wide variety of commercial and residential settings where the occupants were experiencing health problems appearing to be associated with air quality.  IAQ surveys are performed in an attempt to identify the source or cause of occupant complaints and then work to correct the problem.

FOCUS ON INDOOR MICROBIAL ASSESSMENTS
CEI staff members have conducted hundreds of mold inspections throughout the State of Ohio.   Our inspection team follows the latest sampling guidelines and procedures as established by ACGIH, EPA, IICRC, IAQA, and NYCDOH.  Sampling and analysis includes a combination of viable and non-viable sample collection, direct examination, as well as ambient monitoring, throughout the entire structure.  CEI also works to identify the cause of the mold problem and assist the building owner in correcting the situation so as not to reoccur.   Microbial services have also included work as an expert witness involving IAQ and mold related lawsuits.

FOCUS ON MOLD ABATEMENT PLANNING SERVICES
CEI offers a full range of abatement services, geared toward the specific needs of the abatement contractor and complexity of the abatement project.  This can include a very detailed building schematic showing exact placement of air filtration equipment and locations for material removal or can be as simple as a one page list of instructions of what is required for each abatement area.  CEI’s mold abatement planning follows a systematic approach for removal and cleaning, minimizing cost and decreasing time spent away from the structure, to return the area to a Condition 1 environment, as described in IICRC S520.
